As you already know, this type of protection is essential for protecting damaged ligaments from further injury. Like most athletic knee protection, the Ultra Knee Support makes use of two dual hinges, which reduce side loading and lateral movement. The X-Fit lower strap is designed to provide a fine-tuned fit. Additionally, the hinge locks at 180 degrees, to protect against hyperextension. Built with input from the sports medicine gurus at Shock Doctor, it maintains the range of motion you need for pedaling, while protecting against lateral loads, as well as hyperextension. Troy Lee Designs built the Ultra Knee Support to provide added protection for those suffering with knee-related injuries. The N-Tex fabric wicks moisture away from the skin and retains enough warmth to provide therapeutic heat, which is essential for retaining freedom of motion in swollen joints.
