About this product
Description
It was designed in 1964, just after the founder of the Marimekko brand, Armi Ratia, publicly announced that she was banning floral motifs, which were considered hackneyed. Their original patterns blend together wonderfully. Ironically, the Unikko motif has become the emblem of the brand. Maija Isola defied her by drawing a series of floral designs whose style was so innovative and fresh that Armi changed her mind. Created in 1951, Marimekko is a state of mind, a way of life based on creativity, freedom of spirit and inventiveness. Dimensions: 50 x 50 cm. Maija Isola's iconic Unikko flower motif is the emblem of the Marimekko design house. PLEASE NOTE: cushion cover sold on its own (filling sold separately). Dimensions: 50 x 50 cm. Cheerful, chic and graphic, the collection of Marimekko cushion covers brightens up your interior! Its notoriety dates back to 1960, the year in which Jackie Kennedy made several public appearances in dresses designed by Marimekko.
