After his art studies at the Institute for Industrial Arts in Helsinki, Timo worked for the Arabia factory for many decades. Timo’s artistry is represented at numerous museums in the Nordic countries. Timo Sarpaneva (1926–2006) was one of Finland’s leading glass artists in the 20th century. He was part of the Nordic design tradition aiming for clarity in shape that was as timeless, organic and “cool” as Scandinavian nature.
